Sales questions
Q: Is this a proven product?
A: Alertsec Xpress is powered by the world leader in hard disk encryption software, Pointsec, which has been around for 15 years and is renowned for its robust and secure architecture. Pointsec is proven and trusted by over 4 million users worldwide.
Q: What happens when my trial period has ended?
A: After the 30-day free trial has ended, you will be prompted to activate your subscription or un-install the software. The software will automatically un-install if you decide you do not want to continue with Alertsec Xpress.
Q: What if I am not happy with my trial?
A: No problem. The only thing you need to do is to log in to your account on Alertsec's website and click on the un-install button at the bottom of the user page. You will then receive an email that initiates the un-install.
Q: Do I have to uninstall to be able to move the subscription to a new laptop?
A: If the old laptop is to be discarded, you do not have to uninstall to reuse the subscription. Just go to your account on Alertsec's website and delete the user it is registered to. You have now freed the subscription and can deploy it to a new user/ same user again. Please note that we are not able to give any remote help or recovery on a laptop that has been deleted in our system.
Q: I need to have a local admin account - can that be arranged?
A: Yes, in certain cases. Alertsec offers customers the ability to build their own configuration for internal deployment. This will be charged at a fee and is seldom cost effective for organisations with less than 50 users.
Q: What happens when I want to dispose of the PC?
A: This is another important reason to use Alertsec Xpress. When it is time to decommission the PC, you can simply reformat the disk and it will not be possible for anyone to recreate the information. Unfortunately many people do not realize that a non-encrypted disk can almost always be restored, even if it has been reformatted.
Q: Will I have to buy new licenses when I decommission a PC?
A: No, the license is transferable within your organisation for best value. You can delete the user on a PC and then deploy that license to a new user.
Q: Can I travel with an encrypted PC without getting into trouble?
A: Yes, as you are able to open the PC when it is demanded of you, there are no general problems. Pointsec also has a general export license for the software. However, local rules may apply in certain countries and can be changed with short notice.
Q: I want to roll out to larger organisation - what to do?
A: There are many features and configuration alternatives available that are not included in the standard configuration. If you are considering a larger deployment, please contact Brite Computers at 1-800-333-0498 or salesinfo@britecomputers.com and we will provide you with assistance adapted to your specific needs.
