Semi-Rugged Notebook Computers
A semi-rugged notebook computer is very similar to a conventional notebook computer but is able to operate after a short drop, slight vibration, non-extreme temperature exposure or light dust. These semi-rugged units are often lighter and thiner than fully-rugged notebooks. Semi-Rugged notebook computers can also be mounted in any first responder vehicle. Example: Itronix VR-1. |

Itronix GoBook® VR-2
Launched in June 2007, the GoBook® VR-2 combines performance
and durability in a notebook that transitions seamlessly from the
desktop to the vehicle. Optimized for vehicle-deployed workforces,
the GoBook VR-2 is the only semi-rugged notebook rugged enough
for vehicle deployments. The GoBook VR-2 meets many fully rugged
standards MIL-STD 810F standards for temperature range, vibration
resistance, dust ingress protection and humidity standard. It can also
survive punishing 30” drops and comes standard with a spill-resistant
keyboard (with a published 400 ml 10-minute soak spill test ), dual
integrated task lights and the industry's best 13.3” outdoor viewable
touchscreen display featuring innovative, patent-pending DynaVue™
display technology.
